Common fungus triggers
These conditions increase lawn disease and make a preventative program more valuable:
- Hot, humid weather (extended heat + moisture)
- Overwatering or poor drainage
- Excess thatch / compacted soil
- Low mowing height and stress
- Limited airflow
FAQ
Do I really need more than one fungus treatment?
Often, yes—especially in hot, humid summers. Fungus can persist for weeks, and repeat rounds help maintain protection when conditions stay favorable for disease.
Will fungus control fix damaged areas?
Treatments help stop or slow disease activity, but damaged turf may need time to recover. In some cases, overseeding in fall is the best way to restore density.
How do I know if my lawn has fungus?
Common signs include thinning patches, leaf spotting, ‘smoke ring’ edges, or areas that don’t respond to watering/fertilizer. If you’re unsure, we can evaluate the lawn.
Do I need to water after an application?
For optimal results, water the following morning on your regular schedule. If you need help with irrigation, visit Anthony Sprinklers.
